Cath Price, an artist living in Cape Town, got hooked on ceramics while she was studying Fine Art at the University of Cape Town. After she graduated in 2010, she combined her love of animals and clay to create a quirky line of ceramics, Xoologee.
These works are both functional and sculptural; made from fully vitrified white stoneware with a South African developed non-toxic glaze intended for culinary use.
“The pig can guard your precious jewellery or wallow in your favourite dip. The polar bear can keep a beady eye on your sushi or peek around an ice-cream berg in your dessert bowl. But whether you serve up that special meal on a rhino plate or eat morning cereal with your hippo, Xoologee animals are guaranteed to bring a smile to your day.”
